Ultrafast nanooptics

2nd SPP 1391 School

Location: Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (Institute for Advanced Study), Delmenhorst, Germany ( www.h-w-k.de )

Accommodation: We have reserved a number of rooms at the Hotel Thomsen in Delmenhorst (www.hotel-thomsen.de) . Please indicate on the registration form from when until when you need a room and we will take care of that. You should not book a room yourself, because that would only cause confusion. The hotel bill shall be paid by you directly, it is my understanding that the SPP organization will reimburse you for that from their funds, but only to a certain limit - the cost of staying in a double room. (The hotel costs include breakfast.)

Transfers between hotel and HWK: We will organize a taxi shuttle service between the hotel and our insitute. You will find information about the shuttle upon check-in at the hotel. This shuttle will be billed directly to us, taxi drivers will only ask one passenger per trip to sign a receipt for the trip.

School program and meals: The summer school will begin on Wednesday, September 7th, at 9 a.m., and it will end on Friday, September 9th, at 3 p.m. approximately. Lunches on all three days will be served at the HWK, as well as dinner on the first day. On the second day, Thursday, an afternoon/evening excursion to Bremen will be organized, including dinner at a Bremen restaurant. All these meals will be paid for from the school's budget - the same holds for coffee breaks mentioned in the program.

Travelling: Delmenhorst is a medium-size city between Bremen and Oldenburg; the nearest airport is Bremen (BRE), from where it takes about 30 minutes to get to Delmenhorst by taxi. Delmenhorst is on the IC train line between Bremen and Oldenburg with frequent stops (for train connections see www.bahn.de). Both the hotel and the HWK are within easy reach by taxi or by city bus (see www.delbus.de). Travel costs to/from the hotel are are not covered and have to be met otherwise.

If you have questions regarding organizational or logistical aspects of the summer school, please do not hesitate to contact Wolfgang Stenzel (wstenzel@h-w-k.de) or Christina Thiel (cthiel@h-w-k.de). With all questions regarding the school's schedule and content, please turn to Christoph Lienau in Oldenburg (christoph.lienau@uni-oldenburg.de).

There will be a maximum of 70 participants of this school in Delmenhorst.

The registration procedures will be made available soon. Please ask your co-workers to register as soon as possible!
